According to Joseph Silk (1994: 79) after inflation, a "slow and continually decreasing expansion rate recommenced." This resumption is still progressive, but "takes more and more time for each successive doubling of scale."
At the instant of inflation, the time required for expansion by a factor of 2 was 10-35 second. Today the time required... is 10 billion years.
